
Dyers Crossing pioneers, Eliza and George Stevens, had nine children. Below are brief details of the lives of their four daughters.
Emily (1890-1984) was the eldest child of Eliza and George Stevens.1 As a pupil of the Sisters of St Joseph Krambach, Emily took part in many concerts where she played the violin.2 She resided at ‘Killarney’, Dyers Crossing for nearly 59 years before moving to Taree, living in Pulteney Street for 15 years and Bahtoo Parade for a further 22 years.3 She never married. Emily died 8 September 1984 and is buried in Krambach Cemetery.4
Mary Beatrice, known as ‘May’, (1894-1960)5 was an excellent cook and beat her mother in local shows.6 She married Arthur Thomas Parker and had five children.7 May and Arthur are buried in Krambach Cemetery,8 having lived most of their lives in Krambach.9
Olive (1905-1967)10 was born at Dyers Crossing and married Michael Joseph Cusick in 1927, Gloucester.11 They lived in Koribar, Dyers Crossing and had three children.12 Olive is buried in Krambach Cemetery.13
Constance ‘Connie’ (1907-?)14 was an active fundraiser for the Convent in Krambach, organising balls, parties, kitchen teas and sports days.15 After her marriage to Leslie Boland, they moved to Moree where they had six children.16 They are buried in Moree Cemetery.
